About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown bright yellow and gold flecks Italian art glass heart shaped bowl / vide poche. Attributed to designer Alfredo Barbini. The bowl I made with a golden sunflower yellow and it is profusely covered in heavy gold leaf throughout the inside. The shape is that of a heart, with a decorative indent on one end of the bowl, and pulled down edge on the other side. The outer layer has a very slight green tinge, hard o notice unless turned upside down. Would make a great display piece on any vanity, desk, or coffee table. Use it as a catchall, candy dish or ashtray. Mid-century era. The main image was taken with indoor lights, and all others in direct sunlight. Measures: 5 1/2" long x 5" wide x 2" high.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
